Summary: Essay describes the Montgomery bus boycott by Miss Rosa Parks.
On December 1st, 1955, Miss Rosa parks a forty two year old black woman made history in Montgomery, Alabama. Miss Rosa parks sat in the first seat of the black section of the bus. When the bus filled up the bus driver ordered her to move to the next seat and when she refused she was arrested.

This simple act was the beginning of a much larger act. Mrs. Jo Ann Robinson meet with several Baptist preachers Ralph Abernathy, Martin Luther King Jr. as well as E.D. Nixon who was an NAACP official. The arranged for 40,0000 handbills to be printed and handed out to all blacks. The preachers preached the message of the boycott in their Sunday service.
