Summary: This paper examines the role and treatment of women and religious groups in Maoist China and Nazi Germany.
Single party rulers want "to control every aspect of people's lives, and, by doing so, shape them to his purposes as a potter shapes clay"(Marrin 65). The main prerogative of a single party ruler is to make sure that his views and opinions become that of the general public. This would then make the single party rulers transition to absolute power easier to accomplish. Both Mao and Hitler accomplished in making their views and opinions that of the people of their respective countries. Due to these different and often massive changes in societal thinking, the treatment of different minorities or groups of people change drastically and can lead to either the destruction or glorification of a certain body of people.
