The question is "why should I refrain from drinking and attending alcohol related parties as a child of god." In Leviticus 10:9-11 it says that God commanded the priest not to drink so that they could tell the difference between the holy and the unholy. Right there it shows that when we are drunk we can't use our better judgment, God knew that if the priest drank that they wouldn't be able to tell later, and as children of Christ if we drink we will be blinded by lust and sinful ways. We won't be able to tell what we are doing wrong we wont think it is wrong because there is basically a blind fold over our eyes and we cant see what is really happening.
