Summary: Explores the history of the Boy Scouts of America. Discuses their history of exclusion. Argues why homosexuals should be allowed to take part in the Boy Scouts of America.
The twentieth century was a time period full of unexpected changes in ideals and social viewpoints. One major battle of human ideology was the beginning of the fight of civil rights. Particular accomplishments of this time period are the changes that led to the legal acceptance women, and of those of skin color other than white, both of whom had been mistreated for hundreds, or even thousands of years. Today, most people question and persecute those who discriminate based on stereotypes, or personal bias opinions. However, there are many battles of discrimination that must still be overcome. For hundreds of years, homosexuals have been discriminated against, based on the belief that homosexuality is wrong, or sacrilegious. This discrimination battle is different from those fought before, as a woman can not hide the fact that she is a woman, nor can a man pretend he is not black. Though...
