Summary: Explores the history of the European Renaissance. Examines the expansion of humanism during this time. Describes the effects of a Renaissance education and how it improved one's lot in life.

The Renaissance was a time of rebirth in the entire western world, including Europe. The idea of humanism was also being spread at that time, which coincided with some of the values of the Renaissance. Education played a key role during the Renaissance, but evolved over the years, getting better with time after being tested. The values and purposes of education during the Renaissance were simple: men should study all areas of learning, focusing on the humanities. Battista Guarino, an Italian humanist, stated that humanities, which can also be called learning and training in virtue, and man was not familiar with this idea at the time. His motive for this idea could be that men at the time were not focusing on what they needed to be studying, therefore the idea may be strange to them.
