Local Government - providing community needs

The Local Government Area that we have decided to study is Hornsby Shire. Commonly known as `The Bushland Shire', the area's council is called Hornsby Shire Council. The mayor of the council is Councillor John Muirhead and the general manager is Robert Ball.

The Local Government Area is split up into three wards with three councillors for each ward. Ward A includes the suburbs of Arcadia, Asquith, Berrilee, Berowra, Brooklyn, Cowan, Dangar Island, Galston, Glenorie, Mt. Ku-ring-gai, Mt. Colah, Hornsby, Hornsby Heights and Wisemens Ferry.

Ward B contains the suburbs of Dural, Castle Hill, Cherrybrook, Glenhaven, Hornsby, Normanhurst, Thornleigh, Waitara, Wahroonga and Westleigh. Ward C consists of the suburbs Beecroft, Carlingford, Cheltenham, Eastwood, Epping, North Epping, Pennant Hills and West Pennant Hills. A map of the wards is shown below.
