There are several types of religious program on terrestrial television; documentaries for example focus on the informative side of spectrum of the many religious programs. In fact these are probably the least religious of the multiple programs on terrestrial television. Then there are worship programs which focus (as the title suggests) on the worship side of the programs. These are probably considered to be quite religious compared to the documentaries; "songs of praise" is an example of a worship program they worship god through song (hymn). There is one more type of program and that is a magazine program. This is designed to inform the viewers of the latest goings on in the religious world. These programs are designed to be more engaging by presenting them in a more casual an interactive format.

Most of these programs are shown on a Sunday due to the fact that the Christian holy day is a Sunday. Most strong Christian believers would go to church on a Sunday.

There tend not to be too many non Christian programs on terrestrial T.V. mainly because of the fact that over 20% of the populations have to be watching if the program is to stay on air. In the case of the British population there are not enough members, of the any other religion to support the showing of any other religious program not of the Christian faith.

There are very few religious programs that's target audience is young people I think this is because of the fact that it is very hard to put a religious program in a context that a young person would find interesting also, it is very hard to escape the hard and boring stereotypical image of a Christian person and their point of view. I think a break through may occur if the producers of a popular children's T.V. program managed to intertwine a religious Issue into an engaging storyline
