The Early Years and Growing Up

Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19th 1809.

His parents David Poe Jr. and Elizabeth Arnold were touring actors. David Poe abandoned the family when Edgar was one. Elizabeth died before Edgar turned three. She died of tuberculosis.
