Summary: Compares two Judith Wright poems, Remittance Man and South of My Days. Considers similarities and differences in content, tone and technique.
In studying both of Judith Wrights poems Remittance man and South of my days I have been able to locate many similarities and a few differences in the way in which they were written and the content of the two poems. Both poems use a lot of descriptive language and have alike characters as well as conveying some related and somewhat similar ideas.

One of the main similarities between the two poems was the extensive use of descriptive language used to depict the Australian landscape. For example in south of my days Wright says "the creeks leaf-silenced, willow-choked, the slope a tangle of medlar and crab-apple branching over and under, blotched with green lichen."

This descriptive language helps create some nice imagery of the Australian scenery, especially in lines such as in remittance man when it is said "Blue blowing smoke of twigs from the noon fire, red...
