Films have become close to, if not the most common way of presenting narratives and information, starting way back around the times of Charlie Chaplin and the original Ned Kelly to the high budget heavily animated films of today, like Finding Nemo or The Day After Tomorrow. Through the comedies, adventures and dramatic chapters emerged one of the most popular genres known to the filming world: Thrillers.
"Thriller and Suspense Films are types of films known to promote intense excitement, suspense, a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, anxiety, and nerve-wracking tension. Thriller and suspense films are virtually synonymous and interchangeable categorizations, with similar characteristics and features.' (Dirks, 1996)
