An epic hero is a person who is renowned throughout the world, who is admired a great deal for his accomplishments and characteristics and considered to have incredible powers; thus, respected significantly. One of the first pieces of Western Literature, The Odyssey includes the lengthy and dangerous adventures of Odysseus, who is one of the major heroes of the Ancient Greek. Odysseus fits the definition of an epic hero in numerous aspects and undeniably is one - probably the most virtuous of his time.

On his journey, in the places that he visits, honorable Odysseus is praised for his cunning and intelligence, which are undoubtedly his premium characteristics. He manages to save himself and his men from numerous predicaments on his long journey.
