Summary: My essay is about the Rudy Van Gelder Recording studio and how it is special to the town of Englewood.
As I pulled up into the brown house shrouded by woods and trees, I would have never suspected that such a place would have existed here. Adjacent to the Toyota dealership in Englewood Cliffs lays one of the greatest recording studios of the modern era. From the road, this is a hidden building. There are no signs saying "Van Gelder Recording Studio" with arrows pointing in the direction of the building. I rang the door bell and a man in his sixties answered. He opened the door and invited my father and me into the room. I was in awe of what was in the studio. There was a tall ceiling, booths for which each instrument would record in, music stands everywhere, pianos, and of course the control room.
