Who is the one person that makes your life worth living? For Elie Wiesel, it is his father. [Through their horrible time at the concentration camps, Elie and his father were able to keep each other alive.] No matter how awful the conditions got, how much they wanted to give up, or the life threatening sacrifices they had to make, Elie and his father made sure they made it through together. Even as the conditions worsened, Elie never gave up, and neither did this father.

The food supply was always very low, but Elie and his father always made sure the other one had enough food before they ate themselves.
