America had problems in 1970, some were major problems like the infamous Kent State shootings on May 4th, and others were minor problems like Americas use of drugs at the time. Apollo 13 went wrong. We still had segregation throughout the country. National guardsmen shot down Vietnam War protesters. We were at war, and invaded Cambodia. 1970 was a year of problems for America. There is one main theme to all these problems in America: the Cold War.

Of these many problems, there were some minor ones, and some major ones. One of the most shocking incidents in 1970 was the shootings at Kent State University. It started when 28 national guardsmen were brought in after students had set a military building on fire while they were protesting Nixon's decision to invade of Cambodia.
