Absolutism is the complete power of a sovereign over his or her people. Absolutism is the political characteristic of the Enlightenment. The Age of Absolutism lasted during the sixteenth and eighteenth century. During the Age of Absolutism, powerful and strong rulers ruled the countries of Europe. Sovereign held all the political power and because of this, they were admired by others seeking for more power. The Sovereign ruled over the people and they are loyal to the Sovereign. Some obeyed and loved, some feared.

Today, people may not accept the ideas of absolutism because of the past. Where wars were caused and many lives were lost. Absolutism lacks human rights and also individual freedom. People feared the rulers and rebellions were made. The poor people were not equally judged instead they are treated unfairly than the richer people.
