Was Miro a hero or a monster? Miro, the character in the book After the First Death, can be illustrated by either one depending on the readers' viewpoint. In the perspective of many Americans, Miro is portrayed as a monster and not as a hero. Even though Miro was trying to gain back his homeland he did it in an uncivilized way that made him a monster. Miro could have realized that by killing the lives of innocents he could not have succeeded his goal and instead of being a hero he would be a monster. Killing the mother and child made Miro a monster, being apart of the hijacking made Miro a monster, and overall performing acts of terrorism made Miro a monster.
