Summary: Brief description of all the Noble Gases
The periodic table is formed of many groups and families. In this research paper, I will focus on one group, the Noble Gases. The noble gases are found in group eighteen. These elements were considered to be inert gases until the 1960's because their oxidation number of zero prevents the noble gases from forming compounds readily. All noble gases have the maximum number of electrons in their outer shell, making them stable.

Helium (He), a Greek word helios for "sun", has an atomic number of two and an atomic mass of 4.002602 amu. The element was discovered in 1895 by Sir William Ramsey. Helium is the second most abundant gas in the known universe. Helium also has a hexagonal crystal structure. It is a colorless, nontoxic gas. It has no taste or smell. Helium has two known isotopes. Its main uses are balloons and deep sea diving.
