Summary: Stalin and his actions: Justifiable or Not?
The year was 1924 and the USSR was suffering from great economic and political corruption. Vladimir Lenin, the leader of the Bolsheviks and a key revolutionary figure in Russian history, had passed away and the Soviet Union was in chaos. There were two men who thought they were fit to lead Russia and improve conditions. Trotsky, a brilliant follower of Karl Marx aimed to create a utopian society by following the ideals of communism. However, a man by the name of Stalin felt that he had more realistic ideas. He firmly believed that the ends justified the means and from 1928 to 1941 he did everything in his power to succeed in making the Soviet Union one of the world's leading nations.
