Dream According to Freud

Summary: Evaluates dreams according to Freud.
Dreams, no matter how bizarre they may be, they are more actually thoughts that the mind has gathered while a person is awake. During sleep, those gathered thoughts could no longer be held in one spot or on check. So that means that often the mind interprets those gathered thoughts in way causing it to be called a dream distortion. Dream distortions are where people may see some type of event occurring in their dream. The gathered information that someone may see while sleeping is triggered due to either an unconscious wish, or a preconscious wish that has been gathered by the mind. Dreams therefore act as a fulfillment of wishes.

In Freud's article it calms that dreams are a different type's of reality, which can mean something in your life that could have a lot or very little value of importance or views such as the future, past and present. Also your deepest desires that you have, and powerful secrets that you have kept to your self are stored in dream paths that your mind controls while you are sleep. Also items and goals that you want to calm or for fill in your life at the moment.

In Freud's article it talks about the subconscious, which is an area in your mind that stores all of your memories and desires. The subconscious is like a giant warehouse where everything is filed and in order shape like a file cabinet that is waiting to be filled with all of your experiences and emotions and images of what you have seen through out the day and night. To me the subconscious allows people to understand how dreams at night are linked to the activities that they have preformed through out the day. Also in dreams certain objects can represent other objects in your life's perspective such as Freud say's that "Stick, Knives, umbrellas, and other pointy objects represent the penis" "Boxes, chests, ovens, cupboards and other containers represent the uterus." Which is his theory. But I think is it what the individual has done within the day and night that objects represent something else in their life other than sex.
