Summary: About DeathWatch by Robb White - The Nature of Man.
Many theories about the nature of man exist. For example, one philosopher, Descartes, believed that an evil genius controlled everybody. Robb White believes that people start off good or evil and stay that way the whole time. Robb White's message in Deathwatch says that evil starts off evil, good starts off good and their experiences ultimately don't affect them.

Robb White's message says that evil people start off evil. In this quote, Madec describes himself as an evil person, after he has been caught and defeated by Ben. "You've got to be smart and shrewd and cold. And you've got to be a professional liar. It's a tough, mean world..." (White, 162). Madec admits his evilness. He remained evil throughout the book.
