The Red kangaroo scientifically referred to as Macropus rufus is an extremely common animal that lives in Australia and is the largest and probably the most popular marsupial. A marsupial is a type of mammal that gives birth to undeveloped young, which carries, and nurtures its offspring in a special pouch on the mother's body until the offspring has matured.

The red kangaroo has long, large hind legs and feet, a long, thick, tapering tail and a heavy stature. These large hind legs are roughly tens times the size of their front limbs and the leg muscles account for half of a red kangaroo's total weight.
