Vegetarianism

The main reasons people become vegetarians are that many people think that it is very cruel and selfish to eat animals, when we can easily survive on vegetables and fruit. Others believe that the way in which people treat animals before they are killed is cruel and want it changed. Some people just don't like the taste of meat and there are those who feel it is a waste of earth resources.

As a vegetarian, my main reason for being a vegetarian is that because there is such a demand for meat in Britain it means that some animals are treated and looked after cruelly before they are killed. I think that to prevent this people who like meat should eat more substitute meat such as Quorn burgers or sausages. They taste nearly exactly the same and it would mean we are not so dependent on meat...
