The situation of war in Iraq is obviously not a pretty one, and thus far it seems is acting like a last straw of our American `big bully' image for many nations. Throughout the history of the world, the world power of the time is commonly shown in a negative light of unnecessary conquering and attempts to reform the world to their `civilized ways'. The United States has been no exception to this curse of world dominance, as the world powers of the past and has been treated in the same manner, like the annoying older brother who is obeyed simply because of the fear others have for him.
