How Teachers Influence the Lives of Students

Summary: How teachers influence the lives of students as examined in two literary passages.
Teachers have great influences on their students' lives, as revealed in the two passages. The two types of influences that the teachers have had in the lives of their students are shown in both the passages. Both of the influences are good influences, but the way the teachers went around to influencing their students is different. The first passage, an excerpt from Barrio Boy, by Ernesto Gallarzo depicts an influence of culture, whereas "Tornado Drill", by David Martin, depicts an influence of how to control oneself during an emergency situation. Both of these influences are portrayed in different ways, but when it comes down to it, the teachers did influence the students. There are also many literary elements and techniques used to depict these views.
