Science can describe how things work but not what makes life "alive" or even what makes life exist. America's founders centered almost all their discussions around what the bible taught. Today if someone were to state that their beliefs were based on biblical teachings they would be met with ridicule and scorn. America has become post Christian in nature because Christianity is no longer the primary influencing philosophy.
