Summary: Essay discusses the eight game hockey series known as the Summit Series between Canada and Russia.
The eight game hockey series that was called the Summit Series between Canada and Russia brought the world closer together and showed that maybe the Cold War, could end in peace and not destruction(Seiker, Angelfire.com). The Cold War between the United States and Russia, brought Canada and the rest of the world into the middle of something they didn't want to be in. The United States and Russia had almost complete control over what happened in other countries. When Team Canada took on the Russians, to some it was just a series, but to others it was much more. When the Canadian hockey team took to the ice against the Russians, the world got time to take a breath as the Cold War was put on hold.
