Your honors, as you all know, cross-burning is a large issue that is going on today and has much controversy. After the Virginia v. Black and others case in which these people were arrested for burning crosses, this issue arose. You have all debated whether cross-burning should be allowed or banned. Justice Thomas, you have a very emotional argument and your personal connection to this issue has persuaded many other justices to agree with your point of view. I know that you strongly believe cross-burning should be illegal since it can be harmful to people and you think it is only a form of intimidation.
