Karla Abrahmsen was an educated Jewish woman who grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark. Karla began her extensive list of romances in 1880. This is when she began her first brief marriage, to a man named Solomanson. After only hours of being married she changed her mind and left her new husband. Interestingly, even though Karla was no longer with her first husband, she kept her married name of Solomanson. Afterwards, she left Denmark for Frankfurt, Germany; where she lived among the Bohemians. When Karla returned home to Denmark, she realized she was pregnant.
