Summary: Essay discusses the everyday lives of Sumerians.
Sumerians had very busy lives. They had to worry about trade, farming and irrigation. The Sumerians had the two rivers on each side of their city, the Tigris River and the Euphrates River. Sumer was a town that had good crops because of the irrigation they had. The farming was also very good because of the spot they lived in. The trade was also very good because of surrounding towns.

Trade in Sumer was a little different than earlier times. When it came to trading pottery before Sumer it was a woman's job. A small elite living on the water routes controlled much of the trade in Sumer. In Sumer the men were the people that traded it. The Sumerians also invented glass that became very important in many years to come and is still very important. Specialized craftsmen were casting in bronze in the early third millennium...
