Summary: This essay is about Henry VII and how he ruled England during his reign as King.
Fifteenth century England was a period when the struggle for obtaining the English crown created a great ordeal for England. Claims to the throne led to a war between the house of York and the house of Lancaster it was destructive to England and was known as the War of Roses. The war was between the after thirty or so years of intense battles, the War of Roses ended in the Battle of Bosworth where Henry Tudor led the house of Lancaster to victory. (Carpenter 28). At the time all of the Lancastrian and Yorkist who were to rightfully claim the throne next perished in the war and left the crown to whoever would be able to capture it. With no one to stop Henry Tudor from moving forward, he declared himself King of England and embraced the name Henry VII.
