Parents have always said to their children, "Always eat your vegetables." But why? Epidemiological studies have suggested that a rich diet in fruits and vegetables lowers the risk of cancer. In other words, leafy green vegetable contain key cancer fighting and cancer preventing ingredients.

Every day, during normal daily body functions such as the breakdown of amino acids and fats, your body is producing what are called free radicals. These are atoms with at least one unpaired electron. In the body it is usually an oxygen molecule that has lost an electron and will stabilize itself by stealing an electron from a nearby molecule. These free radical are not good for your body, because they are high-energy particles that ricochet wildly and damage cells.
