S:  And if they had kept up the Taurat and the Injeel and that which was revealed to them from their Lord, they would certainly have eaten from above them and from beneath their feet there is a party of them keeping to the moderate course, and (as for) most of them, evil is that which they do.

005.067 Y:  O Messenger! proclaim the (message) which hath been sent to thee from thy Lord.  If thou didst not, thou wouldst not have fulfilled and proclaimed His mission.  And Allah will defend thee from men (who mean mischief).  For Allah guideth not those who reject Faith.

P:  O Messenger!  Make known that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord, for if thou do it not, thou wilt not have conveyed His message.  Allah will protect thee from mankind.  Lo!  Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.

S:  O Messenger! deliver what bas been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people; surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people.

005.068 Y:  Say:  “O People of the Book! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord.”  It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord, that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy.  But sorrow thou not over (these) people without Faith.

P:  Say O People of the Scripture!  Ye have naught (of guidance) till ye observe the Torah and the Gospel and that which was revealed unto you from your Lord.  That which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) from thy Lord is certain to increase the contumacy and disbelief of many of them.  But grieve not for the disbelieving folk.

S:  Say:  O followers of the Book! you follow no good till you keep up the Taurat and the Injeel and that which is revealed to you from your Lord; and surely that which has been revealed to you from your Lord shall make many of them increase in inordinacy and unbelief; grieve not therefore for the unbelieving people.

005.069 Y:  Those who believe (in the Qur’an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

P:  Lo! those who believe, and those who are Jews, and Sabaeans, and Christians — Whosoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right — there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

S:  Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians whoever believes in Allah and the last day and does good—­ they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.

005.070 Y:  We took the covenant of the Children of Israel and sent them messengers, every time, there came to them a messenger with what they themselves desired not — some (of these) they called impostors, and some they (go so far as to) slay.
