The quarterback is the most important player on a football team. His job is to direct the team's offense and make big plays. One of the best playmakers in the National Football League (NFL) is Mark Brunell of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Brunell is an accurate passer with a rifle arm, and his speed and running ability add a dimension that very few quarterbacks can match. During the 1996 season he led the NFL in passing yardage with 4,637 yards and earned most valuable player honors at the Pro Bowl all-star game. Brunell has overcome two serious knee injuries in his career to become one of the most dangerous offensive threats in professional football.
