G. E. Armitage has written a few works under his own name and several under his pseudonym, Robert Edric. Gary Edric Armitage was born on 14 April 1956 in Sheffield, England, the son of E. H. Armitage (a store manager) and A. Armitage, née Gregory. He attended the University of Hull, where he graduated in 1977, with honors, with a B.A. degree in geography. On 12 August 1978 he married Sara Jones, a teacher, and in 1980 he graduated with a Ph.D. in geography, writing his Ph.D. thesis on the spatial imagination in Victorian literature. He lives in East Yorkshire in England...
