Everything you need to understand or teach Wings (Poem).
"Wings" is a quatrain love poem by Welsh poet, playwright, teacher, lecturer, editor, and translator Gillian Clarke. Originally published in her 2009 collection A Recipe For Water, "Wings" concerns distances wrought by sleep and fear, and the speaker's subsequent task of reassuring herself of her lover's presence. Through an avian metaphor, the speaker describes waking in the night and contemplating the way that she and her partner move through their lives together.
