Unstoppable Us Overview

Unstoppable Us, a nonfiction book for children, is a historical account of Homo sapiens, the ancestral humans of modern man, who lived during the Stone Age. Written by Yuval Noah Harari, the book traces the evolution of our ancestors to the people we are today. The author celebrates what he calls the superpowers of the Homo sapiens. Those powers include the ability to tell stories and to cooperate. Sapiens also have the ability to change their minds about the collective cooperative tasks that they choose to do. Harari chides humans for being the greatest threat to other animals. He ends with a supplication to protect animals that are near extinction. Using illustrations and explanations that are relatable to children, Harari discusses topics such as connections between past and present Sapiens, the downfalls of Sapiens, and the interdependence of all species.
