The Rabbit Hutch Overview

In Tess Gunty's novel The Rabbit Hutch, after Tiffany has a relationship with her high school music teacher, she changes her name to Blandine after a martyred teenager in 177 AD France. As Blandine, her primary goal is to leave her sexual and physical form behind. Throughout the novel, Blandine's attempts at mysticism and transcendence gradually intersect with another slew of characters' disparate lives. Written from both the first and third person point of view, the novel explores themes including identity, entrapment, and loneliness.
