Lucy Foley's novel The Hunting Party is the story of a group of old college friends who decide to visit a Scottish hunting lodge for a New Year's reunion. Even before the group arrives at the lodge, the Oxford graduates are beginning to realize that they no longer feel the same as they did in college about some of their old friends. The lodge has a small full-time staff who are pressed into service when a member of the group goes missing. After a body is discovered the author employs several red herrings to present a large cast of possible suspects. The classic murder mystery explores how dynamics inevitably change in a group of friends over time and the results of giving into the desire to escape adulthood.
