The Almost Sisters Overview
Joshilyn Jackson's novel, The Almost Sisters, is the story of 38-year-old Leia Birch, a comic book writer and illustrator. Recently impregnated by a Batman at FanCon, Leia keeps her pregnancy secret. She travels to Alabama in order to help her ailing grandmother but her stay is disrupted by the discovery of human remains in her grandmother’s attic. The novel touches on themes of dichotomy, innocence and corruption, racism and creativity.
