Stone Blind Overview

In Natalie Haynes's novel Stone Blind, after the warrior goddess Athene discovers that Poseidon has raped Medusa in her temple, she exacts her revenge by cursing Medusa. Medusa is thus transformed into what others perceive as a monster. Meanwhile, the demi-god Perseus travels in search of Medusa, hoping to kill her in order to protect his mother. As the characters' storylines intersect, Medusa's and Perseus's fabled reputations and roles begin to reverse. In this inventive retelling of a classic Greek myth, the author explores themes including heroism, entrapment, and power.
