"Still Life" is a free verse poem by American poet and professor Katie Ford. Originally published in The New Yorker in 2013 before being included in Ford's 2014 collection Blood Lyrics, "Still Life" comments on the nature of drug addiction and the state of being unsheltered. At just eight lines, the poem offers a poignant look at the ways in which society condemns these vulnerable and marginalized populations.
