Peaces Overview
Oyeyemi’s novel Peaces follows the newly-married Otto Shin and his husband Xavier Shin on a train ride through England. Life on the train leads them to a mystery involving Přemsyl Stojaspal and his relationship with the owner and resident of the train, Ava Kapoor. Through Otto’s first-person narrative voice, the novel explores themes of invisibility, desire, family, unreality, and violence.
