“If Librarians Were Honest” is a contemporary free-verse poem by American poet Joseph Mills (sometimes credited as Joe Mills). It first appeared in Mills’ collection Sending Christmas Cards to Huck & Hamlet, published in 2012. This poem is told from the perspective of an unreliable narrator and explores the possibilities of the knowledge contained within a public library.
