Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Overview

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a two-part, four-act play by British playwright Jack Thorne and based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany. Legendary wizard Harry Potter is now the 37-year-old Head of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic, is married, and has three children. Harry’s teenage son, Albus, rebels against his father and travels back in time with his friend Scorpius Malfoy in an attempt to do a good deed. Instead, they end up creating a world where Voldemort rules and they must rely on their intelligence to right the wrong they have created. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opened at the West End Palace Theatre in London in July 2016 to positive reviews. The play explores themes of family, friendship, time, fate, and good versus evil.
