Antidiluvian Overview
In Ben Hinshaw's third person short story "Antediluvian," photojournalist Bill Pointer visits Unguja, a Tanzanian island, in order to escape his lonely life in Somerset, England. While at Hotel Dahoma, he meets two young people, Ned and Nicola. His conversations and experiences with his new companions challenge Pointer to confront the truth of his unrealized trauma. The short story explores themes including pain and mortality.
