"Anne Hathaway" is a sonnet written by Scottish poet Carol Ann Duffy. It was originally published in 1999 in Duffy's collection of poems entitled The World's Wife. The poem is a response to a famous passage from William Shakespeare's will, in which he gifts to his wife, Anne Hathaway, his "second-best bed." In the poem, Hathaway herself speaks about what that bed meant to her and their marriage.
