American Born Chinese, by Gene Yang, is a multi-award-winning graphic novel for young adults. In Yang's novel, three stories gradually converge: that of Jin Wang, the only Chinese-American student in his new school; that of Chin-Kee, a personification of negative stereotypes about Chinese people; and that of the Monkey King, a powerful figure from Chinese traditional stories.
