100 Sideways Miles Overview

Finn Easton is a 16 year-old boy who lives in San Francisquito, California. An injury when he was a boy and a horse fell from a bridge onto him has caused Finn to be epileptic. Finn's father is an author who wrote a famous book that includes a character that seems to be a composite of Finn and Finn is always trying to figure out the end of the story, or at least change it. Finn has escapades with his best friend, Cade Hernandez, who is a good-looking renegade. Finn also falls in love for the first time with a girl named Julia Bishop and is heartbroken when she moves away. Finn and Cade become heroes on their way to a college visit in Oklahoma and the incident shows them that they can design their own futures and not get stuck in what they think others expect from them.
