The Zeitgeist International Party is the political wing of the Zippies. A party with no leaders, no hierarchy and no members, styled after the Yippies. Z(i)p has no formal membership or leaders as such; instead it has participants and autonomous individuals who interact in a communal, situationist way. A political theatre party deploying techniques of zen contradiction and juju-style opposition to achieve its shamanic, anarchistic goals. The Zeitgeist International Soundsystem makes announcements from time to time.

History

Despite attempts on various occasions, by Fraser Clark amongst others [1], to disassociate from the work of Dana Beal, Tom Forcade, and Abbie Hoffman the link between new Z(i)p and old Z(i)p is undeniable. The Zippies live on... and the work of Z(i)p has continued around the world, as it should be, with the addition of various other factions, youth groups, anarchists, mud collectives, dancefloor psychoanalysis, media mavericks, mosh-pit mc's, turntablist's, spontaneous electronic voodoo and psychic podsters.

Camp in the Bush

  • Right to Dance on the Grass campaign -- a long standing battle to free the airwaves, party outdoors and get rid of George W. Bush.
