Yuri (Iurii) (勇留島) island is part of the Russian Kuril Islands. The Kuril Islands are a group of islands in the Pacific Ring of Fire running northeast from Hokkaido, Japan to Kamchatka, Russia. The island of Yuri belongs to the subgroup called the Khabomai Islands, which are the closest to Japan of all the Kurils.
